The Semantic Web (or how I learned to use the phrase Web 3.0)

Last week I had the chance to speak at a conference here in Auckland.  The 2nd Digital Media Summit was a two day event put on by Conferenz Ltd.  This summit focused on the latest issues surrounding the digital arena and covered:

  • Trends & Directions
  • Regulation
  • Virtual Worlds
  • Social Media & Social Networking
  • Content
  • Consumer Needs
  • Behaviours & Expectations
  • Creative Commons

My presentation fell into the first category: Trends & Directions.  My presentation was entitled You’ve heard the phrase “Web 2.0″ – but what about “Web 3.0″? I presented some ideas around the Semantic Web and making use of all this freely available data that has collected online over the past 10 years.  Rather than get into details I thought I’d share my slides right here on the Marker Blog.

Thanks to the awesome Slide Share website I’m able to simply embed the PDF of my presentation.  Enjoy:
