There is an old saying that cobblers children have no shoes. Well, we launched our first website on 1st June 2006 and it has taken over 2 years to relaunch. To be fair, we have launched a blog and redesigned that a couple of times since 2006, however, we still took a lot longer than I would have liked.

I’m very happy to announce the launch of the new Marker website and will finally be able to not cringe when I hand over a business card desperately hoping the client doesn’t look too hard when they type markerstudio.com into the browser.

This new site is an up to date summary of our current positioning, what we do, who we are and the work we have done. We’ve kept the thousands of posts we’ve built up over the years from our blog, which is now integrated into the site, rather than on a separate domain name.

I am really happy with the new Portfolio section that shows a wide selection of our recent creative work.

For the geeks, we decided to build this on WordPress as the bulk of the content was already in our blog, so it made sense to reuse this as the base content management system/blogging engine. We have used JQuery (our favourite Javascript library) for the cool stuff like the animated hero element on the home page, to show you don’t have to use Flash necessarily.
