And it was warm…

Well, the conference is going quite well, weather is warm, but it’s a good atmosphere.
Theres lots of really neet people here, and I guess part of it is that it’s a conference for the industry, and part of it is that people involved with the internet are usually a lot more approachable. But there are some guys from Opera, Adobe, one of the inventors of CSS, the man in charge of IE since version 2, people from Wikipedia and all sorts of industry types that you’d be hard pressed to find the equivalent of at a business conference or something.
I mean, you could grab a drink, tea or coke or whatever, and end up chatting with one of the pioneers of the industry. Pretty crazy stuff really.
Theres been some really great presentations about accessibility, not just the usability from a graphical interface point of view, but more about making things accessible for everyone, and integrating that
methodology and way of thinking into your practices and designs.
There was a really go presentation on the use of javascript in modern sites and the way that screen readers interact with it.
Gareth is dead set on winning a new iMac from one of the giveaways that they’ve got here, though that’d probably be interesting to explain to the people at customs. “I won it, honestly, that’s why I don’t have a reciept”
Oops, last presentation, gotta shoot.
