Great plug-in for Firefox

For some time I’ve been experiencing major issues when trying to access certain international websites. Even worse was the fact that it was seemingly random – NZ sites worked just fine, but when trying to access Apple, Amazon, BMW International, Brietbart (great news wire, and one of Drudge’s favorites), MySpace and others, it was like a throwback to the bad old days of Xtra dial-up. I’m talking about page loading times of over a minute, if they loaded at all.

Now I’m no propeller-head, and will probably never understand Jon’s assessment of the problem. What I do understand is that if any of you experience similar issues, there’s a great plug-in for Firefox, called SwitchProxy, that really helps. SwitchProxy allows you you have multiple proxy servers set up within Firefox, and to switch between them on the fly (via a drop-down list).

Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean. Click here for a list of alternate proxy servers you can use.
