I’m really pleased I came to ad:tech this year and I want to summarise my impressions from the last few days: Our industry is hot. Everyone is talking about interactive/digital being the future of marketing and advertising. This includes big media/publishers, agencies, and the big brands. I’m particularly encouraged by the very bold campaigns being [...]
I’ve been contacted a few times this week regarding recent references I’ve made to The Venice Project – mostly people wondering what what on Earth I was talking about. There’s so much more to this than I can (read: ‘have time to’) say now, but here’s the low-down. Remember Kazaa? Well, the two guys who [...]

This I want. Yesterday.Though I’m loathe to compare things to other things, think Minority Report. Apparently this project, called “TouchLight” has been developed by Microsoft. It makes use of different cameras positioned behind a holographic projection material screen. While I wish that they’d show some more traditional interaction using this new system, the image resizing [...]
Diesel Heaven is a very slick Flash site. Cool use of video, imagery and sound. The navigation gets a little annoying after a while and it is probably highly offensive to various religions, but hey, it is definitely an innovative use of the medium.
Starwood Hotels are launching a new hotel chain called Aloft in the US in 2008. They have taken the unprecedented step of turning their artists concepts and plans into a complete virtual hotel in the online virtual world Second Life. There is also a blog describing their progress. This an amazing concept and I think [...]
